How to Enter SIP Address

Calls over IP are implemented based on Session Initiating Protocol (SIP) on the Quadro. When making a call to a destination which is somewhere in the Internet, a SIP address must be provided.

SIP addresses must be specified in one of the following formats:

The display name and port number are optional parameters in the SIP address. If no port is specified, 5060 will be used. The range of valid ports is between 1024 and 65536. The display name is used to identify the user at  the called party, i.e. caller's display name will be shown on the display of the called party's phone when a call is established.

If the SIP address includes only the username, it is required to enter only digit symbols, as the username by itself acts as the phone number. If the username appears in combination with the IP address, it may contain both digit and symbol values. The IP address may also consist of either digit or symbol characters for the URL address (e.g. sip.epygi.com) and the IP Address (192.168.0.2) correspondingly.

A flexible structure of wildcards is allowed. The character "?" is a place holder for only one unknown digit and the character "*" stands for any number of digits. Particularly following combinations can be used for your convenience:

Attention: Wildcard is available for Caller addresses only (no wildcard characters are allowed for called party addresses). Exceptions are addresses in Supplementary Addresses table that are used by Blocked Outgoing Calls Settings and Hiding Caller Information Settings services. To use "*" and "?" themselves (as non wildcard characters), use "\*" and "\?" correspondingly.
