The Codecs page is used to define a list of voice codecs used to initiate the call conference.
Note: The table on this page is displayed in a read-only mode for the users authenticated as participants.
The Codecs page consists of a table Active Codecs that lists active voice codecs for the selected line that are supported by Quadro Conference Server. Each record in the table has its checkbox assigned to the row. The checkbox is used to delete and to move up/down the corresponding record. An error occurs if no records are selected and the user activates the delete button: "No records selected". At least one codec must be attached to the conference, when attempting to delete the last one the error will occur: "At least one codec should stay in the codec list".
The order of records in the Active Codecs table is important for voice transmitting and receiving. A codec placed at the top of the table will be used as the preferred codec. If the remote party does not support the preferred codec, the following codecs will be tried out strictly in the consecution given in the Active Codecs table.
Following functional links are present to manipulate with the codecs in the Active Codecs table:
The checkbox Out of Band DTMF Transport enables the DTMF code transmission in parallel with the voice stream. Destination received the DTMF code will play it locally if it supports the feature too. This is helpful to avoid DTMFs loss in case of bad traffic. The feature is valuable for all codecs but it is especially recommended to enable it in case of using low bit rate codecs (G729, G726/16, etc.).
