The Edit Event Settings page serves to assign an action to the event selected on the Event Settings page and displayed here with its Application, Name and Description. If more than one event has been selected, the specifying information is replaced by the term Multiple. To associate an action, select the desired Action radio button:
Display Notification - a notification will be displayed on the bottom of all pages and a record is added into the System Events table. The notification is presented as a "Please check your pending events" link. This link leads to the System Events page. This action also will take place if Send Mail has been selected, even if not specifically selected.
Send Mail - a notification e-mail about the new event description in the email will be sent to the e-mail address specified in the Mail Settings.
Send SNMP Trap - an SNMP notification will be sent to the traphost(s) listed in the SNMP Trap Settings table.
Send SMS - an SMS notification about the new event on the QX1000 will be sent to the mobile phone specified in the SMS Settings page.
If QX1000 cannot receive an IP address from the DHCP server, or cannot register an extension on the SIP or Routing servers, or cannot reach an NTP server, it raises only one event for the entire period the action has failed, but will continue to try. When the required action is successful QX1000 raises an appropriate message.
