The FXO settings are used to configure FXO support that allows Quadro to
connect to other PBX or analog telephone lines. Depending on the Quadro
model, local or remote FXO ports can be available on the board thus giving a
possibility to connect several PSTN (Public Switched Telephone
Network) lines to the Quadro and use them simultaneously.
The number of available FXO ports is dependent on the type of your Quadro.
The FXO Settings page consists of a table that lists the local FXO lines, shared FXO lines on the remote devices (if any) and
their settings, it gives additionally a possibility to allow only incoming or
only outgoing calls for the selected FXO line.
The administrator may assign a default recipient for each FXO line,
where calls from the Central Office (PSTN) will be routed to and who will ring
when receiving a call from another or a global PBX. The assigned recipients
become the Quadro's "default users". If the administrator assigns the Auto
Attendant as the "default user" of Quadro, callers be connected directly to the
Auto Attendant menu. To access another extension the caller then needs to follow the Auto Attendant's instructions.
Following FXO settings are available to be configured:
The Enable FXO checkbox activates FXO support for the selected FXO
line.
The Allowed Call Type drop down list offers the allowed call
directions for the corresponding FXO line. The administrator may choose
between:
Incoming Calls Only (prohibiting outgoing calls) for the selected
FXO line.
Outgoing Calls Only (prohibiting incoming calls) for the selected
FXO line.
Both Incoming and Outgoing Calls for the selected FXO line.
The Route Incoming FXO Call to manipulation radio buttons group allows to define the destination where incoming calls addressed to the corresponding FXO line will be forward to.
Extension - selection allows to choose the local PBX user or auto attendant extension to forward calls to. If inactive extension is chosen from this list, the Voice Mail System will answer the call addressed to the corresponding FXO line. If Auto Attendant extension is chosen, it will become the "default user" of corresponding FXO line on the Quadro.
Routing - selection allows to forward the incoming calls to the destination defined through Call Routing. Selection requires to enter a routing pattern to the corresponding field.
By choosing a destination, the Quadro administrator virtually assigns a default number that will start ringing whenever a call is initiated to the Quadro's PSTN number.
PSTN Number text field allows to enter the PSTN number current FXO line is attached to. Field value is optional, used as an identification parameter for FXO lines and can be empty.
The Alternative AC termination mode checkbox appears if the locale country (Germany, Israel, France, etc.) Quadro is located in has two kind of COs
that use different types of AC termination. Contact your CO office to learn about your AC termination mode.
Selecting the checkbox may help if the voice quality over FXO is poor or echo occurs.
