QX200's Auto Attendant provides remote access to the QX200 voice connectivity services. Specifically it supports remote connection to QX200 extensions, their mailboxes and making pass-through calls to other destinations. Remote access to the QX200 auto attendant is possible through IP and PSTN calls.
QX200's Auto Attendant can be accessed locally or remotely from the IP network (by dialing Auto Attendant's SIP address) and from the PSTN network (by dialing QX200's PSTN number) if the calls addressed to the QX200's PSTN number are routed to the Auto Attendant.
Attention:
If the Auto Attendant authentication attempts have been failed for the five times, QX200's Auto Attendant will become unavailable for the next 5 minutes. The automated attendant services are divided into following feature groups, voice messages help the caller to navigate within those areas using handset buttons.
The Connection Service provides access to all QX200 extensions. It is accessible by remote callers without restrictions. They only need to provide the extension number.
The Remote Access Service provides the possibility to access QX200's extension (both, active or inactive) mailboxes. It is used to check the voice messages left whenever the user is absent. The mailbox may be protected by a user password (optional).
The Extensions Directory Service is used to access QX200's extensions by spelling names using the keypad of the phone, assumed a list of names and assigned extensions is specified on the page
Extensions Directory Settings by QX200's administrator. More than one name may be assigned to an extension, reaching the extension by spelling one of the names attached to it. If the spelled name matches to some record in the extensions directory table, a wave file with the extension user name (or any other information characterizing the extension's user) will be played to the caller. Every extension's user may configure these wave files individually.
If you recognize the desired extension's user by the played wave file, accept
it by pressing #. If you haven't spelled the extension user name, or if you are not sure how the extension users name is spelled, press # to play the wave files of all existing extensions in the order configured from the Extensions Directory). The extension assigned to the spelled name will be dialed and a call between the caller and the extension's user will be established if the extension is active and
available, otherwise the
Voice Mail System will be activated. Because more than one name may be spelled with the same key combination on the phone handset, you may hear the wave file of another extension user. In this case, press 1 to try the next matching name or press *
to enter a different name.
Auto Attendant offers the above mentioned services. Specifically it supports remote connection to QX200 extensions directly or through the extensions directory, extension's mailboxes and making calls to other destinations. Only Connection Services and Extensions Directory Services are supported by voice messages to navigate through. Extension numbers may be dialed directly. Other services are available using the appropriate call code, but are not supported by voice messages. Thus, they are hidden for external callers.
Call Codes available in the Auto Attendant:
The following key combinations are available to access and manipulate within Auto Attendant services for external IP calls addressed to the Auto Attendant, incoming calls from the mainline routed to the Auto Attendant or local calls made by dialing the 2-digit attendant extension:
| Incoming Call to
Auto Attendant or dial locally (press 0 on the Auto Attendant welcome message to dial the ZeroOut destination) |
Key Combination |
| Connection Menu - establishes a direct connection to the QX200 extension |
- (already in) |
| Remote Access Menu - access to the extension voice mailbox | *0 |
| Call Relay Menu - mainly for external calls (IP/PSTN) but local calls are also allowed. This service avoids having to hang up and redo the entire dialing process if QX200 detects an error in the dialed number or the user decides to cancel the call and dial a new number. By entering the combination ** the call will be interrupted and the user will get an invitation to dial a new one. This is applicable during dialing, after the ring tone has started, and after the call has been established. Attention: This feature can only be used when accessing from PSTN to the external SIP destination through QX200's AA or vice versa. It is not available, if you have to go from the first auto attendant to a second one to reach the called party. |
*2 |
| Remote Configuration Menu - allows remote enabling/disabling of the Unconditional Call Forwarding service for Any Address/Other Addresses on the extension and to modify the certain forwarding destination. | *4 |
| Non-Permanent Call Back Menu - allows PSTN callers registered in the Authorized Phones Database to change the callback destination for a one-time callback. After the caller hangs up, QX200 will call back to the newly specified number. This change will not be logged into Authorized Phones Database. | *5 |
| Permanent Call Back Menu - allows PSTN callers registered in the Authorized Phones Database to reconfigure Authorized Phones Database entries by modifying the caller's and/or callback numbers. The caller will then be able to initiate a callback, only by calling from the newly specified caller number. | *6 |
| Administrator Login - used by administrator to manage system messages, for details see Feature Codes. | *75 |
| Call Routing Management Menu - allows managing the routing entries in the Call Routing Table, i.e. to enable/disable certain dialing rules by dialing key combinations pre-configured on each routing entry. | *77 |
| Extensions Directory - accesses QX200 extensions by spelling the extension's user name using the keypad on the phone | # |

The Auto Attendant has its own extension on the QX200. In order to receive SIP calls the Auto Attendant needs to be registered at a SIP server.
PSTN users may access the Auto Attendant if it is configured as a "default user" of the particular phone line (see FXO Settings). If PSTN calls are routed to the Auto Attendant, users may access the Auto Attendant services by calling the QX200 phone number from any external phone.
