Internet Configuration Wizard Help

The Internet Configuration Wizard allows the administrator to configure the WAN interface settings and to adjust QX200's connectivity with external network. The Internet Configuration Wizard MUST be run for QX200 to be connected to the Internet. It is strongly suggested to leave the factory default settings if their meanings are not completely clear to the administrating person.

All pages of the configuration wizard provide the following buttons:

• Previous leads back to the previous page.

• Next leads forward to the next page. On the last page of the basic configuration wizard the button is replaced with Finish that will save all modifications.

• Cancel leads back to the QX200 Management page.

• Help will display the online help.

Note: The Finish button is available on the last page only. Whenever you select it, all settings you made are activated and the rollback feature is started. If for example the IP settings are not appropriate, you may lose access to QX200. If that happens you will have to reboot or reconfigure your PC. After pressing the Finish button, the settings need to be confirmed on the Confirmation page within 20 minutes. If not, the device will switch back to the previous configuration and reboot.

The Next and Previous buttons navigate through the wizard pages. As a result of certain modifications one or more field values may be changed in the network features parameters. It is required to select the Finish button to submit the changes or Cancel to keep the initial data and return to the QX200 Management page.

The wizard guides you through the following basic network configuration:

• Uplink Configuration
  To specify the QX200's WAN interface connection type and its bandwidth settings. These settings make QX200 available to the external network.

For WAN Interface protocols PPPoE:

• PPP/PPTP Settings
  PPTP interface related settings (PPTP Server, Encryption), as well as ISP authentication settings, dial behaviour, IP assignment settings, and other PPP/PPTP configuration is defined from this page.
• WAN Interface Configuration
  If your ISP requires a certain MAC address, it may be specified here.
• DNS Settings
  The Domain Name Service (DNS) assigns the correct IP address to the corresponding domain name. The IP address of the server that offers DNS can be specified dynamically or fixed. If you choose fixed you have to enter the IP address you usually get from your ISP.

For WAN Interface protocol PPTP:

• WAN IP Configuration
  Page where IP addresses of the uplink interface, of the subnet mask, and of the default gateway should be defined.
• PPP/PPTP Settings
  PPTP interface related settings (PPTP Server, Encryption), as well as ISP authentication settings, dial behaviour, IP assignment settings, and other PPP/PPTP configuration is defined from this page.

The Switch to Auto Provisioning link moves you to the Automatic Provisioning page where QX200 can be configured automatically.
