IDS Logs Help

The IDS (Intrusion Detection System) Logs page presents information on dropped packets and the senders responsible for those packets. IDS discards the dangerous packets or packets including intrusion attacks. It generates a table with the IDS log report. The administrator person may be notified about new logged entries in various ways (mail, flashing LED, display notification) depending on the settings configured in the Event Settings page.

To create an IDS log reporting table, the IDS service needs to be enabled on the page Firewall Configuration.

The table on the IDS Logs page is a list of new or read IDS entries and the descriptions referring to them. The table consists of a status column that has the value New if the entry is still unread or it is empty if the entry has already been read. The Mark all as Read button removes the value new from all displayed entries. The Delete Log button removes the selected log entry from the table.

Clicking on the description link of an entry opens detailed log that shows additional information about the access protocol, the IP address and the port number as well as date and time of the event.

Each column heading in the table is created as a link. By clicking on the column heading the table will be sorted by the selected column. After sorting (ascending, descending) arrows will be displayed close to the column heading.
